R Joan is one in a million, and I simply adore her! I could grow rows and rows of this beauty and still want more. For me, she has the whole package: gorgeous blooms, an abundance of petals, strong stems, and a color that makes her impossible to overlook. She is everything I look for in a dahlia, both in the garden and as a cut flower. Scroll through the photos and see what you think. In my Zone 6 garden, she starts blooming midseason and keeps on producing beautiful blooms right through the end of the season. R Joan is one of those dahlias that makes you wish you had planted just a few more!
